Digital and Research Coordinator
The Knight Center for Specialized Journalism seeks an experienced person in digital media. This nationally known center based at the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism provides in-depth training programs for working journalists.
The digital and research coordinator will help lead the center in the digital frontier.
With the Knight Center director’s and assistant director’s support, the Digital & Research Coordinator creates, uploads and monitor online materials for the center’s constituents, increases the reach of the center online through social media and other tools and assists in delivery of on-site and distance learning programs. Responsibilities include conceiving and creating new media programs for the center and providing support for the center’s seminars. The job requires a self-directed individual with excellent communication and collaborative skills, who can assess needs, set priorities and do thorough follow-up. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability in Web site creation and maintenance, and hands-on experience with a range of digital media tools. Previous experience with online audio/video and distance learning is welcome.
Duties include working with colleagues in seminar preparations and office administration, special projects and other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor’s degree is required and a degree in journalism/communication or related field is strongly preferred. Salary low 40s to low 50s.
