Since the 1960s, EWA has honored the best of education reporting. First prize awards ($150), second and special citations are given in 18 categories (small and large papers, national and regional magazines, trade publications, television and radio). Online entries are welcomed in any category. The Fred M. Hechinger Grand Prize for Distinguished Education Reporting, $1,000, is awarded for the best of first prizes. Selections are made by a distinguished panel of independent judges. The awards presentation will be held in Washington, D.C. at the EWA national seminar April 30–May 2.
